This was a quieter than usual period for the team, with ten callouts happening through the three months.
Five occurred July and four in September. While August is often our busiest month, we only received one callout during that month this year. One contributing factor is probably the very benign and dry weather which persisted through most of August. Wet and muddy conditions tend to lead to more slip-based injuries with walkers and more mountain bike incidents.
The breakdown of the callouts over the July to September was:
– Four high-risk missing person searches
– Six callouts to deal with casualties on behalf of the Yorkshire Ambulance Service.
