Holme Valley Mountain Rescue Team News
Holme Valley MRT spent the afternoon of 30th December searching for a high risk missing person in the Methley area. We were joined by our colleagues from Calder Valley Search & Rescue Team.
Holme Valley MRT were placed on standby to assist the Yorkshire Ambulance Service during severe weather which was forecast for the morning of 29th December.
The Holme Valley Mountain Rescue Team's busy period continues. We were called out on 15th December to support the Yorkshire Ambulance Service in the Denby Dale area.
The Holme Valley Mountain Rescue Team was called out by West Yorkshire Police at 23.30pm on the 14th December to rescue a motorist who was stranded in heavy snow on the A640 at Buckstones.
Another quick call out for the team during the evening of 11th December. We were tasked by West Yorkshire Police to assist with the search for a man missing in the Holme Moss area.
8th December proved to be a busy day for the team, with two call outs. There was a call out in the morning to assist with a search then another in the afternoon to support the Yorkshire Ambulance Service .
The Holme Valley Mountain Rescue Team has recently returned from a call out on behalf of the Yorkshire Ambulance Service. A walker got into difficulties on the moors above Marsden and the team was tasked with locating and then treating them.
It is with much sadness that the Holme Valley Mountain Rescue Team announces the death of its long-standing President, Brian Smith. Brian was team President for more than ten years, continuing until his death on October 28th 2017 at the age of 82, following a short illness.
