Holme Valley Mountain Rescue Team News
At about 16:30 on 8th July, HVMRT was mobilised to support Oldham Mountain Rescue Team and Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service with an outbreak of moorland fire above Dowry Reservoir.
Our 50th call of 2018, last night, was also one of our most unusual. At 1am the team was called by Yorkshire Ambulance Service to assist with locating a couple who had left a rock concert at Temple Newsam, Leeds, and then misplaced themselves somewhere in the country park.
We were called out at 19.13 by West Yorkshire Police to help search for a suicidal 13 year old female in the Allerton Bywater area.
Shortly after returning from our first callout of the day we were contacted again by the Yorkshire Ambulance Service to assist with a boy who had fallen off a rope swing in woods near Middlestown.
This afternoon was the second callout of the Bank Holiday long weekend and the 40th incident of the year for Holme Valley Mountain Rescue Team.
The Holme Valley Mountain Rescue Team was called out at 17.02 on May 6th to assist the Yorkshire Ambulance Service with a paraglider who had crashed in the Buckstones area, just off the A640.
The afternoon of 7th April saw our fourth call out of the week, with a short tasking to assist YAS with an elderly casualty who had collapsed near Longley Golf Club in Huddersfield.
