Holme Valley Mountain Rescue Team News
The Team was called out at 11.30pm on 27th December to assist West Yorkshire Police with a search for an elderly gentleman aged 83. We were also joined by members of the Calder Valley Search & Rescue Team.
18th November was a busy Sunday for the team, with a training exercise consisted of three different terrain search locations followed by a call out to assist Yorkshire Ambulance Service with a 74 year old lady who had injured her leg whilst walking in woodlands near Hepworth.
Late on the evening of 5th November we were called out to assist Calder Valley Search & Rescue Team with a search for a missing 70 year old gentleman who had got lost during a walk on the Haworth Moors.
23rd September was a very busy Sunday for HVMRT, we provided first aid cover to the Summer Tri Series - Holmfirth Triathlons and were on hand to assist with a collar bone injury. Shortly followed by call from Yorkshire Ambulance Service to assist with a casualty in Slaithwaite.
HVMRT was called at 14:00 on 19th September to assist Yorkshire Ambulance Service with a lady who had suffered a knee injury while walking the Pennine Way over Black Hill.
On the evening of 27th August, HVMRT was called to its 60th Incident so far this year - to assist West Yorkshire Police with the search for a young man missing from his home in Leeds.
We joined Calder Valley Search & Rescue Team to assist Yorkshire Ambulance Service with a casualty on the moors near Green Withens who had a lower leg injury.
The Holme Valley Mountain Rescue Team received two call outs on the 7th August 2018: a search for a high risk missing person, followed by assisting the Yorkshire Ambulance Service with a teenager with a lower leg injury.
