By the mid-point of the year, we had reached 57 call outs: in 2020 we had attended 39 call outs at the same stage. This is a 46% year on year increase.
May and June 2021 saw 13 call outs, but in a marked change from previous periods in 2021, the majority of calls were to assist West Yorkshire Police with high risk missing people, rather than calls from the Yorkshire Ambulance Service.
The complete breakdown was:
- 7 call outs to assist West Yorkshire Police with searches
- 4 call outs to Yorkshire Ambulance Service jobs
- 2 call outs to assist other Mountain Rescue teams. These were to help Calder Valley team with a search; and the Oldham team with an injured walker.
