The first two months of 2021 was a record breaking period for the team, with 28 incidents: the largest ever amount in a two month timescale.

January saw 8 call outs to assist the Yorkshire Ambulance Service and 7 to support West Yorkshire Police. The latter were mainly assistance with searching for high risk missing people, with one call out to assist a motorist who had got stranded in snow. In addition, our water team was on standby for possible flooding from around midday on the 18th January to late afternoon of the 21st. During this time team representatives also attended West Yorkshire Resilience Tactical Command Group meetings, which brought together multiple agencies to manage any necessary flood response.

In February we had 5 call outs from the Yorkshire Ambulance Service and a further 7 from West Yorkshire Police, again mainly for high risk missing people searches.
