September and October 2019 saw eight call outs in total: four in September and four in October. Half of them were to support the Police and half were to assist the Yorkshire Ambulance Service.
A summary of the incidents follows:
9th Sept: an early morning call, with West Yorkshire Police calling us at 00.22am to discuss a high risk missing person in the Cleckheaton area. Our Team Leader attended WYP Huddersfield to liaise with CID and a WYP PolSA, but no full team call out was necessary.
9th Sept: The team was placed on standby to search for two missing girls in the Linthwaite but they were found before it became necessary for us to deploy.
14th Sept: A call out to assist the Yorkshire Ambulance Service with extrication of a 39 year old who had fallen from a bicycle in woodland near Nostell and suffered a shoulder injury.
19th Sept: The team was called by the Yorkshire Ambulance Service to help extract a 39 year old who had fallen down a steep embankment and who had a suspected chest injury. The team was stood down en-route.
5th Oct: A horse rider had fallen in the Crosland Moor area and the team was tasked to assist.
6th Oct: A 50 year old walker was feeling unwell and was unable to walk. The team located the casualty near the Wessenden Reservoir, assessed and then stretchered them to the nearest roadhead. This call out was initiated by Greater Manchester Police.
10th Oct: A full scale search was conducted for a missing elderly man in the Mirfield area. Support was provided by Calder Valley SRT and also a Trailing dog was requested from Cheshire SAR. Ground and water search teams were both used.
14th Oct: The team was called to a female with injuries in woods near Dewsbury. The team packaged and transported the casualty to a road ambulance.
