HVMRT was called at 14:00 on 19th September to assist Yorkshire Ambulance Service with a lady who had suffered a knee injury while walking the Pennine Way over Black Hill.
The patient was contacted by mobile phone and then sent a PhoneFind message to determine her exact location.
Due to the length of carry required and limited numbers available, we requested the assistance of Woodhead Mountain Rescue Team and together both teams evacuated the casualty off the hill by stretcher and then by 4x4 to an ambulance waiting at Holme village.
15 members of HVMRT and 8 from WMRT responded.
