There were two call outs on 5th April for the Holme Valley Mountain Rescue Team.
We were called at 12.30pm by West Yorkshire Police to assist with a search for a missing person in the Storthes Hall area. The team leader and deputy team leader attended to discuss a search plan with police officers, however while this was taking place new information came in which placed the missing person else where and the team was stood down.
We were then called out at 16.56 for a multi-agency response to help a female walker who was trapped waist-deep in mud near Holme Moss. We attended along with Woodhead Mountain Rescue Team, West Yorkshire Police, NPAS Carr Gate, YAS and West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service. The casualty was quickly rescued, safe and well.
