The Holme Valley Mountain Rescue Team has recently returned from a call out on behalf of the Yorkshire Ambulance Service. A walker got into difficulties on the moors above Marsden and the team was tasked with locating and then treating them.
A very lengthy and difficult stretcher carry off was avoided by calling in a helicopter from HM Coastguard, which was able to extract the casualty and transfer them to a local hospital.
19 members of the Holme Valley Mountain Rescue Team took part in the rescue.
