The Holme Valley Mountain Rescue Team recently recognised commitment of its dedicated call-out team members, coinciding with the celebration of its 60th anniversary.
This was a quieter than usual period for the team, with ten callouts happening through the three months.
April to June 2025 was a slightly unusual period for the Holme Valley Mountain Rescue Team, with a higher than normal number of call outs to assist neighbouring teams.
The first quarter of 2025 was an average one for the Holme Valley Mountain Rescue Team, with 13 call outs.
Holme Valley Mountain Rescue Team (HVMRT) experienced a surge in callouts during December and January, highlighting the vital role they play in the community, especially during inclement weather.
The Holme Valley Mountain Rescue Team finished 2024 on 63 callouts for the year compared to 56 in 2023, however this only tells part of the story. High risk misper searches have been increasing year on year, with 15 in 2022, 17 in 2023, and 23 in 2024.
