This page is for information for HVMRT Members…
First off, welcome to the new website. Have a look around, see what it’s all about. It should help us from this point forward to convey a good, professional public image and do deliver information and news to the public more effectively. The site has been built on a platform to allow us to keep it up to date much more easily, and to tie elements in with social media platforms and other websites with great efficiency. This should improve overall traffic through the website, and hopefully raise the profile of the Team.
In order to gain access to the member resources, you now need to register. This means you’ll get your own username and password, and will enable us to experiment with using the site to take on a more conversational role within the team – you can comment on various things, use the forum etc. Comments on any part of the “front end” of the site will be visible to the public. Comments within the Member’s area should remain private – if I’ve worked things out correctly! Please be aware though that all comments go through a moderation queue. The forum is members-only. It’s there to use, so ask questions, share thoughts, organise trips, flog gear, arrange a beer, whatever.
Once you’ve registered on the site, I have to approve your registration before you can login and gain access to the member’s area. You should get an email once approved, but I will try and get it done in a tidy fashion.
- You can register by clicking here.
- Once approved, you can log in here (or at any time by using the login link at the top of the right hand sidebar
- Once logged in, you’ll be redirected to a page where you can update your password to something more memorable. If you aren’t, click here to edit it manually.
- From the “Edit Profile” page, click on the link at the top of the page where it says “Holme Valley Mountain Rescue Team” to return to the site. Once logged in you should notice the Members’ Area links appear at the top of the sidebar on the right of the page.
Please remember I’m still working on bits and pieces so if something doesn’t work, let me know! Also, feel free to send me an email if there’s anything you feel should be included on the site, or in the Members’ Area. I’ll try and answer any queries and questions as quickly as I can.
Enjoy the new site,
