Black Hill

On Sunday 23rd April, the team carried out a stretcher handling exercise, which aimed to train team members on how to navigate difficult ground whilst carrying a loaded stretcher.

The training session had to be cut short at 13.03 when the team received a call out from the Yorkshire Ambulance Service to assist a walker who had fallen and suffered facial injuries near the summit of Black Hill.

Members of the team walked to Black Hill from two directions; one team from the A635 and one team from the Holme Moss car park.

Once we had ascertained the location of the injured walker the Yorkshire Air Ambulance was dispatched and flew the casualty to Holme Moss car park where a transfer to a road ambulance took place.
