The Holme Valley Mountain Rescue Team received two call outs on the 7th August 2018: a search for a high risk missing person, followed by assisting the Yorkshire Ambulance Service with a teenager with a lower leg injury.
The team was called out at 5:30am to assist West Yorkshire Police with a search for a high risk missing person in the Holmfirth area. The team were tasked to a number of nearby locations surrounding the point last seen (PLS). The team stood down at 10:40am after completing the search area. The missing person was found safe later in the day at a location near Honley.
Our second call out of the day was to assist Yorkshire Ambulance Service with a 13 year old female who had fallen down an embankment in the Clayton West area.
The day concluded with our monthly Tuesday evening training session, where 26 team members attended a close country search exercise.
