The Holme Valley Mountain Rescue Team was called out this afternoon to search for a missing person in the Fartown area of Huddersfield.

The initial contact from West Yorkshire Police was at 10.12am with a request for us to use our SARLOC tool to help locate the missing person. SARLOC involves sending a text message which includes a link which, when clicked by a person with a GPS enabled mobile phone, can give us a very accurate fix on their position. On this occasion our SARLOC message was not responded to. Our Team Leader Owen Phillips then attended at Huddersfield Police station to talk through search options, which resulted in the full team being called out at 12.50pm. We also requested and received assistance from our neighbouring team, Calder Valley Search & Rescue Team. The missing person was found safe and well at 14.35 by West Yorkshire Police.
